Governor Granholm visits CHi

Charter House Innovations (CHi) was honored with a visit from Michigan Governor, Jennifer Granholm, on Thursday, July 15. Granholm toured CHi's design firm and manufacturing facility, personally greeting employees and viewing CHi's eco-friendly manufacturing procedures and finished seating and décor products, including furniture for the newly remodeled Brody Complex at Michigan State University. Granholm's visit punctuated her commitment to helping Michigan small businesses, which she believes are a significant source of much needed innovation and job-creation.

"Small and medium-sized business are vital sources of innovation and job-creation in Michigan," Governor Granholm said. "Michigan has always been a great place for innovation and entrepreneurship. It is our relentless entrepreneurial spirit that will help to diversify the economy and create jobs."

Governor Granholm's visit capped a whirlwind summer for CHi owner Chuck Reid, who was recently named Michigan's 2010 Small Business Man of the Year. In May, Reid was recognized for the award by President Obama at a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden.
